چکیده

Abstract The effective removal of organic dyes from aqueous solutions is essential for environmental protection and remediation. Hence, methods fabricating efficient sustainable adsorbents removing toxic are urgently desired. Here, new cellulose/silica microspheres containing amino groups were prepared applied as functional materials capturing anionic pollutants. Tosyl cellulose, which has a high degree substitution, was cellulose using an ionic liquid the solvent. Further, (3-aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane utilized silica precursor to prepare microhybrids via nucleophilic followed by sol–gel process. fabricated exhibited excellent capacity methyl orange (MO) adsorption. Furthermore, effects different pH values, contact times, initial dye concentrations on MO adsorption evaluated. Langmuir isotherm pseudo-second-order kinetic models modeling microspheres. Under established optimal conditions, higher (588 mg/g) than those in previous reports. Therefore, proposed offer promising platform development water-purification systems. Graphical
